Red, swollen penis on 2 year old uncut. Very painful.?
Our 2 1/2 yo son is uncut. 2 times in the past month or so he has come to us in obvious pain. Upon inspection his penis was rather swollen and red. The first time I did not notice any discharge or puss. This second time it is even more swollen and has some kind of yellowish discharge. It is obviously painful. The first time we put him in a warm tub of salt water and the problem resolved. We are doing that again this time, but with the puss I am more concerned. We absolutely already know NOT to force the foreskin back. So with the foreskin intact I wonder how he could get an infection? Again, we know how to care for an uncut penis so what could this be?

He does have some sort of infection. I would get him in to the dr. I know little boys at that age are curious about they're little willy so just keep an eye on him and make sure he's not pulling on it. Sometimes when they are uncut it makes them alittle more prone to infection if something gets down there. Also i hate to say it or even think it but make sure there had been no one that has been "messing" with it. Im sure the answer is no. But in these situations sometimes you have to ask. Also, have you been using a different baby wipe, diaper or soap? Maybe he could be allergic. But in the mean time just keep it clean and dry until you get him in. Maybe if you let him run around bare butt it could help him feel alittle better. Hope your little man feels better soon.
