Tree surgeon/Arborist Timberwolf wood chipper question?

I have to ask this question for any arborist or tree surgeon. I work for a company who have just started to undertake their own grounds maintainence contract. I work as an arborist dealing with all the tree related enquiries which come through. Me and my work colleague are both climbers up to CS39, both have our RFS Cert Arb and studying level 3Tech Cert Arb, we are also qualified chipper operatives.

Now we are supervised by an operative with no qualifications in arboriculture but he does have his chipper qualifications, he has ordered all the shrub-beds on all the estates to be cut down, they have been using the chipper to process the waste, yeah you got it, tangled brash, hiding all sorts of dangerous objects, stones, glass, metal. Now I know this will have an effect on the cutting mechanism and pit the blades, so when I come to use it after them I am expected to put brash up to 7" diameter through it. Would you use this machine after them? if no, why?

Cheers

Better to use a heavy duty flail mower such as a McCullough as the brash will wear out the blades on the chipper.
