My female dog is leaking a brown/pink fluid that smells...what is it?
She is a rough collie, around 10-11 years old (rescue dog so exact age not known), 9 months ago she developed a massive infection that had to be drained and she was spayed at the same time, her heart stopped on the operating table but the vet got it going again and she pulled through. A month ago she got gastroenteritis. Now she seems well but smells really bad. I noticed while she was standing, wagging her tail she was dropping a smelly brown/pink fluid onto my carpet. I have tried giving her a wash every few days to keep her clean but the smell just comes back. And because she licks herself her breath stinks as well. This has been happening for a few months, last time she was at the vets they ignored this and just gave her antibiotics for the gastroeneritis. She's very precious to me and I look atfer her very well, but the vets bills are running into the thousands and the vet never seems to know what the whole leaking thing is about, or at least never gives a definate answer. !HELP!
is it coming from her vaginal area or could it be that her anal glands/sacs need cleaning? with her history though i would take her in to a second vet for a thorough check up, make sure you sign something so they can get the medical records from the first vet
