Do you think we're all rough diamonds waiting for someone or something to polish our lives and make us shine?
To make us shine forever?
Thanks for your views!
Interesting question!
I recently read a book where the author described our lives as having that rough, dirty, yet flawless diamond on the inside of us. It was his way of showing all human equality. And so.... I have comments...
Yes, I definitely believe we have that diamond on the inside like you speak of.
However, I do not believe we as human beings, somewhat in control of our lives, can WAIT for someone to come and polish our diamond. This is the work that we must do, if we want to sparkle, shine, and show off our beautiful flawless diamond that is on the inside. That was the point and argument of the book, as the author expressed that the polishing and cleaning of our own diamond, is our own work. The more you work, the more you shine, which also means you work on knowing yourself which has a priceless value in itself.
Honestly, I think there are people who believe your question and statement, in the fact that they are sitting around waiting for someone to come and buff, polish, and shine their diamond. And this is just wrong, in a sense this is another way of saying... I am waiting for someone to come and save me, because I cannot save myself. At the end of the day, you, me, all of us are in our own bodies and heads, and we must put ourselves and our value first. What is more important that knowing and understanding who you are? This is why you must do your own polishing, and not wait for someone else to do it, because in most cases, people have their own work and polishing to do on their own lives. This does not mean you, me, or any of us cannot help someone with their polishing... but it is important that people know they need to work on themselves for more than that reason of just shining. The more you know about yourself, the more you understand those around you and the world in general.
