how can you tell whether a a certaine gem is a diamond?
see i found a gem the other day about the size of an index fingernail... and i just wanted to find out how i can tell whether if its a diamond or not.. pls help
Diamonds are the hardest gems known to mankind. Diamonds do have a potential to scratch a glass. Or you can even try conducting a fog test.
Put your diamond in front of your mouth and fog it like you fog a mirror. If it stays fogged for 2-4 seconds, it's not a diamond. Real diamonds disperse the heat instantaneously so by the time you look at it, it has already cleared up.
